About SketchUp

Google SketchUp is one of the most exciting 3D visualisation tools available - easy to pick up and play with but with exciting features tucked away that make this the tool of choice for an increasing number of professionals in architecture, product, model and game design.

What Will I Learn?

You will get to know how to use the toolset for constructing objects and components, how to add and modify materials (including some advanced concepts), how to model from a 2D plan or drawing, how to add extra components to your models and how to produce basic animated 'walkthroughs'. The course is designed to run over a single day and no previous experience with the program is necessary - you will be able to create models of buildings, roofs, stairs, and simple furniture items by the end of the day and will have the foundation knowledge to quickly move on with SketchUp.

The course covers SketchUp 6 and 7 (free versions - Pro features and Layout are referred to where appropriate but not included in the standard outline). One set of reference material is provided for the course although it is possible for each delegate to have their own copy (charged extra - please contact me for details).
