Graphic Design:

With a wide range of experience spanning 25 years, I've worked on projects ranging from toy packaging to local government documents, and a whole host of things in-between. My clients have included Comic Relief, Carling, Woolworths, The Home Office, Tesco, NHS, SimpleLogic Software, Report Assist, Logobrand and a great many SME's. I work hard to give you the service you'd usually expect from a much larger studio only with lower costs and much faster response times.

Illustration

Like many of my freelance contemporaries in graphic design, I started out with a specialism, and mine was illustration. My strong area is in work aimed at children and young people and although I've produced quite a lot of 'grown-up' work, this is the area in which I'm most comfortable. I've produced book covers for Harper-Collins, four children's activity books with Acorn, three record covers and had my work for the Home Office featured in The Times newspaper.

What is a specialist document? Well, it's any document designed primarily for viewing on-screen (although it may also be printed out) which contains interactive content (movies, audio, specialised 3D engineering or architectural models), interactive forms and may also employ security settings to prevent the information being accessed without permission or even to limit the amount of time that the information is available. Presentation services can be used to describe most forms of audio, video and interactive content for deployment via kiosks, the web, CD/DVD or from a laptop through a projector at a meeting. Using the skills mentioned elsewhere on this page I've put together presentation aids that have secured a great deal of business for my clients and I've been trusted to produce materials aimed at some really big players! I can work on pitch projects on the basis of a relatively low fee plus a bonus if the pitch is successful.

You're looking at some of my work right now, and with the exception of some of the logos and the software pack-shots, absolutely everything you can see on this site is my own work. As a cross-over with my training work, I've built sites for some clients and then trained their staff to update/maintain them, which has saved them a small fortune in fees and placed the control of their web asset where it belongs - with them.

One of the biggest advantages I have as a trainer is that it isn't the only thing I do - as a working cross-media designer I have genuine experience of using the products in real-life situations.
